Description
Castle complex Vergottini was built before 1760. Beside the baroque frontage at the south side, the west side of the castle and buildings around the west side of the yard are also in baroque style.
The main building has clear baroque concept of the area with adapted staircase and wide ground floor, which is opened to the yard. Before the end of the XIX century the building wasn’t in complex with the east wing.
The historical building has acces at the west and the east side. The north wall relays on the west side of Euphrasius' Basilica and the east wall of the bell tower closes the area of Vergottini complex.
THE PURPOSE OF THE BUILDING:
a) Reconstruction: the complex is converting into hotel (HERITAGE standard) with many facilities. The main entrance into hotel is in the south side, and with opening reconstruction of the east wing it will be possible to reach caffe bar and restaurant.
At the west wing both portals will be converted into the place for playing and fun.
THE SIZE OF THE BUILDING:
a) The existing building
-From P+1 at the west wing and P+2 at the both side wings, to the P+3 at the central building with size of the ground plan of 1014,00 m2in orthogonal projection.
b) Reconstruction
The outside dimensions of the building will be kept with minimal corrections in the purpose of removing devastations from the past. The total net size of the hotel with all facilities is 2.348,90m2.
